What is CrushSpot?

CrushSpot.com is the premiere community website for meeting new people online, for platonic and/or romantic relationships. CrushSpot allows you to create a user profile where you can upload pictures and post a little or a lot about yourself. You can send members public messages on their message board or private messages in notes. CrushSpot users also receive a blog, or web log, short for online journal, where they can post their thoughts and opinions on things going on in their life or anything in general. There's also a forum for public discussion on a variety of topics. Photo albums, Chat Rooms, and a site Instant Messenger are also in the works.

When was CrushSpot created?

CrushSpot.com was open for user registration as of March 7th, 2005. Design began late December 2004 and was continuously tested throughout the construction of the site.

Who created CrushSpot and why the name CrushSpot?

CrushSpot was created by Mr.Fern. When the decision to create the site was made, multiple names were considered. However, many of the names either received negative feedback from friends or the domain names were already taken. CrushSpot was the first name that was available and received positive feedback. The name was set from there.

Why was CrushSpot created?

CrushSpot was created as a stepping stone. Mr.Fern originally set out to design a local community web site which was driven partly by user profiles and forums, along with features about the city, site and member reviews of clubs, restaurants, movie theaters, casinos, etc. as well as roommate searches, club discounts, and other features. Based on the amount of external research and time needed to put such a site together, the original project was put on hold and CrushSpot was put together with the core development which was set up for that project. Plans for the original idea are still in the works, however current concern is based on strengthening the core development, which underlies CrushSpot and will underly the other site.

What makes CrushSpot different from other sites?

Currently CrushSpot has the look and feel of many other sites designed for the same purpose, however CrushSpot is different in that it takes user input valuable. Users are encouraged to submit their suggestions which they feel can improve the site. CrushSpot programmers work to improve site performance by studying site activity and developing ways to reduce speed issues and keep the site running smoothly.

How can I contribute to CrushSpot's performance?

If you see users violating rules, bring it to the attention of administrators. If you see forum moderators or administrators abusing their powers, contact any of our admins on CrushSpot. If you have a suggestion that you feel can improve the site, create a thread in Site Feedback.
